Torso Size: The distance from your seat to your forehead. An easy way to measure in the field is to place the grip of the paddle between your legs while sitting on a hard surface. In a correctly sized straight canoe paddle, the shoulder of the paddle (where the blade meets the shaft) should be at your forehead.

Very nice

I have had this paddle for 4-5 years, very durable, good construction, and after looking for a while one of the best for the money. It has also done very well in a very rocky usage style. I am far from nice to it and you would not be able to tell it.
