Born in Michigan and raised in Japan. Boarding school at 14... I have some crazy stories about that. My first time out on the water was on Lake Michigan near Navy Pier. We should have died that day, but I got the itch instead. I have been an avid outdoors man all of my life. As a child I spent thousands of hours in the forest and fishing off the river banks. I didn't get on to a stand up paddle board until about 4 years ago. Although I consider it one of the most inefficient ways to travel across the water I have come to love it more than any other water vessel. The view of what is happening underneath my board while I paddle through rivers and lakes is amazing!

In September of 2017 I set out to be the first person to stand up paddle board solo and unsupported down the "Hardest Working River in North America". As I paddled the river for 21 days I filmed the first part of the documentary that will tell the story of the revitalization of the Wisconsin River. As a "recreationalist" for many years I rarely found myself acting on behalf of the waters that I used for my enjoyment. This film is my way of advocating for our natural resources and I hope it serves as inspiration for communities all over the world struggling to protect and revitalize their fresh water resources. A personal goal of mine is to paddle the most polluted rivers in the world while raising awareness about the benefits of caring for our fresh waters and all natural resources.
