The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a protected area along Lake Superior in northwestern Wisconsin. It’s become hugely popular with sea kayakers—both the islands themselves and a stretch of sea caves in the mainland nearby.

Once established, the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area will be the largest protected freshwater marine area in Canada.

My cousin got married in Santa Rosa Beach, FL last month, which provided my family a great opportunity to go on a week long beach vacation. Baton Rouge has been pretty chaotic lately so it was nice to get out of town for a while.
